My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello! My name is Bandit, and I’d love to tell you a little bit about myself. I am five years old and full of energy. Don’t let the grey hair fool you – I am trying the George Clooney look. It seemed to work well for him. Have you seen his wife? Wowza! Anyway, I love car rides, walks, being brushed, and finding a cozy spot on someone’s lap. I don’t mean to boast, but my foster mom tells me that I am so smart and catch on to things very quickly. I am very well behaved. I do everything she tells me to do. Guess what? If I see a tasty treat being offered, I make sure to take it gently. That really impresses her!
I’m not afraid of anything, including thunder storms, the lawn mower and vacuum cleaner. My foster parents can’t believe how brave I am! I think my confidence comes from my previous training. I have been through obedience school and am agility trained. Speaking of training, I am potty trained and crate trained too. I told you I am well behaved!
I love people, including kids. There is nothing better than to soak in attention from humans. I know it may seem weird, but I actually prefer humans over dogs. Let me tell you why. A long time ago, I got an operation that took away my voice. It is called debarking, and unfortunately, some people choose to do it to beagles. When I bark, it is raspy and hoarse. I am not able to communicate any more, and sometimes other dogs make me nervous because I know if they do something to upset me, there is no way for me to let them know. I am working on not being so defensive, but I find myself a little on edge when I’m with other dogs. My dream home would be one where I have it all to myself.
If you are looking for an athletic dog who loves to listen and snuggle, I am the perfect match for you. I can’t wait to find a new family to love!
