LEIA's Story...
Gosh, we don't know what breed Leia is, but she sure is sweet and she sure is cute. At 7 months she weighs 15 pounds, so we're thinking she'll be 25-30 pounds as an adult. She was picked up on a beach in Puerto Rico where people cruelly dump unwanted dogs, but she couldn't have been there long, because she's super friendly, housetrained, crate trained, and loves to play with kids. When one of the kids in her foster family has a hurt, Leia comes running to see if kisses will help. She loves to cuddle, but she's a young dog and will need plenty of exercise.

If Leia could be the dog you've been looking for, please call Bonnie at 603 835-6154. We hope to send her from Puerto Rico to New Hampshire in December, but we need to have an adopter waiting for her. The adoption fee is $325, not paid until you have met and approved her.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

LEIA, a Alstead Rat Terrier/Dachshund dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Rat Terrier/Dachshund for sale in Alstead, or seeking a Rat Terrier/Dachshund dog from a breeder in Alstead.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Alstead already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Alstead breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Rat Terrier/Dachshund breeders who help with Rat Terrier/Dachshund rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Alstead paves the way for another one to be saved.
