Stilton's Story...
Hey, ya’ll! I’m Stilton. You ever hear rumors of those fantastic dogs that lay around when you lay around and love to be active when you are active? Too good to be true? What’s that you say, not in a million years? I say bologna!!! I’m right here and available for adoption! I’m housebroken, and I know many commands! Sit, stay, shake, hi-five…I’ll even roll over if you put your biscuit where your mouth is! Just kiddin’! Anyway, I also get along with cats…as long as you are willing to let me adjust, that is. A little patience and ongoing training is all I need…but that’s what every dog needs, so what’s the big deal. I’m young, healthy and athletic yet I just love to curl up at your feet as you read a book. Because I really enjoy quiet time outside of playtime it’s probably best if your children are over 10…I hate to be wakened from naps! Loyal, obedient, and I can be protective over the house if you want me to be. Too good to be true you say? No way! 3 years old-60lbs. My adoption fee is $160 and includes; neuter, microchip, 5 week training class free veterinary exam (portland/milwaukie area), 1 month pet health insurance, leash/collar, toy & treat packet, food sample.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Stilton, a Portland Labrador Retriever/Plott Hound dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever/Plott Hound for sale in Portland, or seeking a Labrador Retriever/Plott Hound dog from a breeder in Portland.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Portland already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Portland breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever/Plott Hound breeders who help with Labrador Retriever/Plott Hound rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Portland paves the way for another one to be saved.
