My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

If you are looking for a loving, kind easy going puppy with a beautiful soul than Jenny is the one! She will melt your heart at first sight! Jenny does have a disability, but she has adjusted well to her surroundings at her foster home the past 3 months. Jenny has a birth defect in her sacrum which is a part of her spine where nerves are located that make an animal walk. This deformity does not slow her down but she does walk with a waddle and cannot walk up and down steps at this time, but she does try! She will need a family willing to adapt to her disability and provide a little more extra care than a puppy without her type of disability. Jenny will make a wonderful addition to a family that is willing to adapt to her needs. A one level home with mostly carpet would be ideal for her or you can purchase Toe Grips to help her walk on smooth type flooring. She walks better on carpet and grass. She prefers to find a rug or a comfy dog bed to sit on since her foster home has hardwood floors. Her foster family has not allowed her to climb their steps because her back legs are not able to support her well enough to climb stairs. Things may change as she becomes older if you are willing to find ways to help her adapt to climbing stairs. She does have incontinence issues and may need to be on medicine for incontinence the remainder of her life. Jenny has done well with going potty outside. She is a very loving puppy and plays well with her foster families 4 dogs and has been introduced to their cat and two goats. She has been in her foster home since she was 3 weeks old. She enjoys playing with squeaky toys and Nyla bones. She has never tried to chew on any furniture or be destructive at the foster home. Her favorite thing to do is snuggle in your arms. Jenny has been crate trained since day one at foster home. She will sleep all night in her crate. Jenny will be in her foster home until she is adopted. Her foster Mom is available to answer any questions you may have, if you are interested in visiting her, email our Adoption Center at animalcenter@bmorehumane.org
