My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This is CHLOE, a very sweet female terrier mix left to die at a rural shelter where no dogs get out alive unless a rescue group quickly steps up to get save them. She and a 12 week old puppy, plus 2 other little dogs were dropped off with no hope by their owner. They were all terrified and so sad. Her puppy was adopted and she is left waiting to find a home of her own. She has now been waiting since NOVEMBER OF 2015!! WHY? CHLOE is now spayed, all vaccines up to date, dewormed, heartworm tested NEGATIVE, microchipped - ready to find a loving home. She is about 16 lbs. She is a Jack Russell mix - we are not sure exactly what she is mixed with but she looks a bit like a beagle because of her ears. She has an amazingly sweet and cuddly personality. It takes her a few minutes to get to know you but when she feels comfortable she will be in your lap giving kisses. She is completely crate trained and sleeps in her crate. She even pulls her blanket up over her head at night - so cute! Adoption fee $200. If you are interested in adoption -- YOU MUST COMPLETE AN ADOPTION APPLICATION FIRST TO BE CONSIDERED TO ADOPT. Go to www.AlmostHomeFlorida.com to fill out an online application. You can meet this sweet girl at her foster home in Terra Ceia, FL.
This dog will only be adopted to someone with a securely fenced yard. Underground fencing is NOT safe for a Jack Russell. It is required that the household have no small children (under 6) as terriers do NOT make good pets for households with very young children, and no small animals (cats, birds, ferrets, hamsters, etc.) as terriers were bred to hunt and can kill small animals. Jack Russell terriers are not suited to apartment or condo life, and it would be unwise to expect them to be anything other than what they were bred to be. The hunting instincts and prey drive cannot be trained out of these terriers and they will stay active in this way all their lives, even up to 15 to 16 years old and older.
