Jenkins's Story...
Jenkins is the sweet terrier boy who was pulled from the Summerdale shelter and crashed on us the next morning! He was completely blue when we got him to the vet and we never thought we could bring him back from that point! He started to come around all for the situation to worsen again when he began to have seizures. At first, the vet couldn't get them stopped or under control! The decision was made to put him down, but when we arrived to hold him as he crossed rainbow bridge he began to improve! So we said lets give it just one more day! The next day he was stable but his blood work showed extremely high liver enzymes and a few days later we determined he had become completely blind! We were still on the fence as to what to do but Jenkins helped us realize he was not ready to give up! After about 3 weeks in ICU at the AWESOME Parkway Animal Hospital Jenkins was finally able to go to a foster home where he has just been thriving the last 6 months! He has regained most of his vision. It is limited, but he gets around perfectly fine! He loves to lay in your lap and cuddle! He loves playing with other dogs and time in the yard! Small kids do make him nervous but he just hides from them! He shows no aggression at all! He will let out a growl or howl randomly like he sees something that's not familiar to him but once again no aggression! He has never even snapped when he has been startled! He has truly recovered wonderfully and is the sweetest boy! WE ARE SO VERY HAPPY TO ANNOUNCE HE IS FINALLY READY FOR A FORVER HOME!!! He will do great in a more laid back home due to his limited vision! He's such an AWESOME boy! He's a terrier mix around 1-2 yrs old and 10lbs! He's fully vetted, hw neg (tested below detectable levels) and neutered! We know there has to be a special home for our special boy who fought so hard to live. He deserves a chance at the perfect life... Could that be with you!?

All dogs have a $150 adoption fee which includes vet check, age appropriate shots (atleast 2 sets for puppies), dewormer, heartworm test (if over 6 months), rabies (if atleast 16 weeks) and spay/neuter!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Jenkins, a Grand Bay Terrier (Unknown Type, Small) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Terrier (Unknown Type, Small) for sale in Grand Bay, or seeking a Terrier (Unknown Type, Small) dog from a breeder in Grand Bay.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Grand Bay already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Grand Bay breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Terrier (Unknown Type, Small) breeders who help with Terrier (Unknown Type, Small) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Grand Bay paves the way for another one to be saved.
