Ruby's Story...
Ruby is an excellent example of the Australian Cattle Dog...smart, hardy, independent, determined, tenacious and untiring! This breed MUST have a job to do or it will find unacceptable things to do on its own. Her "job" might be catching Frisbees or tennis balls, competing in Flyball or Freestyle Dance, anything mentally and physically challenging. She can be responsive and obedient, an awesome partner in adventure! These dogs do not do well in apartments. Ruby's new owner must have a fenced yard, prior experience with Australian Cattle dogs, enroll her in Obedience classes, and have no children under the age of 12 yrs. These restrictions are meant to ensure success for Ruby and her new family. If you know and love this special breed, please consider adopting Ruby and giving her the life she was bred to have!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Ruby, a Walker Australian Cattle Dog dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Australian Cattle Dog for sale in Walker, or seeking a Australian Cattle Dog dog from a breeder in Walker.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Walker already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Walker breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Australian Cattle Dog breeders who help with Australian Cattle Dog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Walker paves the way for another one to be saved.
