My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Foster location: Middleton, ID

Paige is a 1 year old Border Collie/Australian Cattle dog mix who is looking for her forever home. Sadly while she has been in a loving home her human mom was no longer physically able to care for her so Fuzzy Pawz Rescue was asked to help.

This pretty girl is one smart cookie! She has already been through some training classes and knows how to “sit” either verbally or by snapping your fingers, she knows “stay/wait”, “come”, “bed” (go to her crate). She also knows “up” for getting in the car or onto the bed; “down” if she tries to jump on you. Paige will also wait until she is invited in the house or outside so she won’t bolt in or out when the door is open, this one isn’t 100% there yet but close. Paige is not quite house trained yet but by being put on a regular feeding/exercise routine this will happen quickly (her family was not physically able to do this).

Paige has been living with other dogs and cats and she doesn’t play that great with others. She prefers to keep all other animals in the household herded into one small area (think sheep). If they move to one of the household members she will put her head down and herd them right back where they were. While she has not ever bitten another animal she will nip at heels to get them into the place she thinkgs they should be. We believe that unless Paige goes to a home that is very saavy of herding dog behavior she should go to a home with no other animals.
This girl also tends to be a bit jumpy around small noisy children, the garbage truck and surprisingly a weed eater. Her previous owner was working on these things with her by using positive rewards methods which a new owner can/should continue with.

Paige was great with her owner but would herd her around if she thought she needed to. She loves to lay on the couch with you and will bark at the tv to protect you from any mean dogs on there. She does like to give kisses and be with you all the time. No kids under 15 please the loud noises and running little feet would be more than she can handle. Paige needs a minute to warm up to people (treats help); she will need an owner that will work on her socialization out in the big wide world. She’s up for the challenge and she has the will/desire to be all you want her to be.

She loves to play ball and likes to chew on her ball for a few minutes before she will lie it at your feet. Paige also loves Frisbees and likes to shake the Frisbee around before she gives it back. She can also be quite goofy and frequently chases her tail just for the fun of it.

She loves carrots, tomatoes, radishes, peaches; apples are my favorite along with other treats. She does have a tummy issue that means she can’t eat dog food with fish products. She is a VERY food motivated dog and the sky is the limit with a bit of time and work. A home that will give her daily good exercise by mind and body and someone who will take her on outings will really bring out her all!

Paige is spayed, up to date on her vaccinations and microchipped.

If you can offer her a loving forever, patient, active home, please fill out an application with Fuzzy Pawz Rescue: http://fuzzypawzrescue.com/adopt/adoption-application-2/ she would LOVE to meet you!

There is a $40 adoption fee for Paige
