ROMEO's Story...
Romeo was raised on a farm and left to "run free" his whole life. This lifestyle got him into trouble with other farmers and he ended up getting "buck shot". Our SOAR volunteer came to his rescue after his former owner decided to give him up so he didn't get shot again. Romeo is an adorable, Purebred Australian Shepherd who is learning how to live "indoors" and has decided he likes snuggling close to his foster mom on the couch and is learning how to use the doggy door. He likes other dogs, and he LOVES kids. He lived with two kids and is very gentle. He is still somewhat skittish on a leash, but is coming along nicely. This sweet boy will make someone a fabulous companion. He's handsome and charming and his name fits him well. Romeo is also Microchipped.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

ROMEO, a Georgetown Australian Shepherd dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Australian Shepherd for sale in Georgetown, or seeking a Australian Shepherd dog from a breeder in Georgetown.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Georgetown already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Georgetown breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Australian Shepherd breeders who help with Australian Shepherd rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Georgetown paves the way for another one to be saved.
