Meet miss Gravy Boat. This beautiful grey kitty with bright green eyes was discovered at a public storage facility in Florissant, MO. She was being cared for by a homeless man living in one of the units and after they found and evicted him, he was forced to leave the kitty behind. The employees fed her fried chicken and put out water for her and she, in turn, would greet everyone who came by. Despite being a total stranger, when the foster went to pick Gravy Boat up, she meowed sweetly, dropped to the ground, and rolled over on her back for belly pets! Gravy Boat did quite well with three large male dogs and two male cats. With the arrival of a human baby, poor Gravy was very stressed with the new environment and moved in with another foster. She quickly adjusted to her new routine and now loves when strangers come over to visit so new people can love on her.

Gravy Boat is a sweet, affectionate, and quirky kitty who loves attention and spending quality time with her humans. She shows her appreciation with head bunts and she likes to "talk". She always happy to play with a laser pointer or other toys. She also really likes to share whatever you may be drinking and will get her whole face into your glass. I used to worry that she was out of water but find her bowl completely untouched. She prefers to be next to her human and will often put just her head or stretch out a single paw to touch you. While Gravy Boat doesn’t protest anything, including having her nails clipped, she doesn’t care to be picked up and held much. She’s a total sweet heart and even greets you at the door when you get home.

Gravy Boat is on a special diet and takes medication every other day for allergies (food and environmental). She has been well controlled on this medication and we are currently working to further reduce the amount and frequency of medication that is required to keep her symptoms under control. Although she doesn't like the taste of the medication, she is a champ and does not hold a grudge for making her take it! She's such a good girl that every time we go to the vet they admire her loving and sweet demeanor. Gravy Boat will most likely will due best in a home where her stress level can be kept to a minimum.

About Tenth Life Cat Rescue

About Our Rescue Group...

Tenth Life is an animal welfare organization that provides another chance at life to injured and abused stray cats. Our focus is on felines with extreme medical needs or ongoing conditions that make it difficult for typical shelters to afford their care.

Stage one of our mission is getting needy cats off the streets of St. Louis and into caring Foster Homes, where they await their forever homes. Stage two´s goal is to open a shelter building that will house special-needs kitties in a cage-free, no-kill setting until they can be carefully placed in their forever homes.
