This dog is a real gem! Maple is a 3 year-old Hound/Boxer mix female with the most kind and sweet disposition. She was facing euthanasia at an overcrowded rural county dog shelter when we saw her picture and knew we had to help her. Maple has a crooked smile from what appears to be an old injury to her face. Some trauma in her past has caused her jaw to be crooked and produced some nerve damage on the right side of her face. Her right eye cannot blink but she does have normal tear production in that eye so nothing needs to be done for her other than to keep that eye clean. She can also eat with no problem. We think that her crooked smile gives her a ton of character and only adds to her charm! Unfortunately, Maple also has some urinary incontinence which has not been able to be controlled with medication. We suspect that this problem may also be a result of the trauma she suffered in the past. Maple is very kind and gentle with other dogs and has made a great impression on everyone who’s met her. She is very friendly and outgoing with all people that she meets including kids. Maple loves toys and chasing tennis balls is one of her favorite things to do. She can’t wait to find a new home with a family who will appreciate all of her wonderful qualities! Maple weighs about 52 pounds and her adoption fee is $200. She’s spayed, heartworm negative and on monthly preventative, up to date on vaccinations, wormed, on flea preventative, and microchipped. All Canine Lifeline adoptions come with a two-week trial period to make sure it’s a great match before the adoption is finalized. Please email info@caninelifeline.org if you’re interested in Maple. An approved application is required before we set up meets with any of our dogs. All of our dogs come to us from county dog pounds so we have no history on them. We also have no foster homes with young children so aren’t comfortable placing any of them in a home with children less than 4-5 years of age. We try to respond to inquiries within 24-48 hours so if you haven’t heard from us within that time frame, please check your junkmail or spam folder to make sure our reply hasn’t landed in there. Please visit our website at www.caninelifeline.org to see more photos of Maple and to submit an online application.

About Canine Lifeline

About Our Rescue Group...

Canine Lifeline is an all volunteer 501(c)3 organization with a mission to save adoptable dogs from being euthanized at shelters due to overcrowding or treatable medical conditions such as heartworm. All of our dogs are in foster homes throughout northeast Ohio.

Come Meet Our Pets...

Canine Lifeline takes adoptable dogs to Petco in Macedonia most Sunday's. We also participate in many adoption events throughout the summer months. Please check our website at www.caninelifeline.org for the most current adoption event listing.

Our Adoption Process...

All Canine Lifeline dogs are spayed or neutered prior to adoption, microchipped, up-to-date on vaccinations including a one-year rabies, and are on monthly heartworm preventative. In the warmer months of the year, our dogs are also on a flea and tick preventative. The adoption fee for dogs 7 months up to 7 years of age is $200. Senior dogs may be adopted for a reduced fee of $125. Puppies 6 months and under are $275. Since all of our dogs come from shelters and have been stray or abandoned at least once in their lives, we want to make sure that their next home is for keeps. That’s why each adoption comes with a two-week trial period to make sure it’s a perfect match before the adoption is finalized.
