Axel is an absolute gentleman of a cat. He is only 4 years old, but he has a wise old soul. He is super sweet and affectionate. All he wants is to be with his human and hang out, but he isn't super needy. Axel could live with another mellow cat, but needs a quiet home. He could live with a family if the kids are older and sensitive to his mellow nature.
Axel has a deformed right front paw. The vet doesn't know if it's congenital or if he had some sort of trauma to it. It doesn't prevent him from doing normal cat activities, but he needs to be INDOOR ONLY. Axel is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, negative for FeLV/FIV, and $50 to adopt.
Cat Town will consider foster-to-adopt arrangements for those committed to giving our cats a chance to settle into their new homes.
Cat Town is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, formed by long term volunteers from Oakland Animal Services (OAS) and other Bay Area shelters. We have partnered with OAS to take the cats who are least likely to do well in a shelter setting. NOTE: Some shelters have physical locations you can visit; some of these shelters may only have pets for a limited time, so please do not wait for a reply—just go visit the shelter! Other organizations are rescue groups run by busy volunteers who may take a while to reply. You can find information about the shelter or rescue group caring for this pet, and their adoption procedures, on the pet's details page on Adopt-a-Pet.com.
