My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello! My name is Banjo and I am a 13 year old Quaker Parrot. I came into Florida Parrot Rescue pretty plucked and with an obvious issue with one of my wings. I also have a very bad skin condition and poor feather condition due to lack of sunlight over many, many years. In addition, I was on a poor diet of peanuts and seeds. Florida Parrot Rescue took me straight to the veterinarian for a full physical with bloodwork and x-rays. It turns out I have an old fracture in my wing, so I am not allowed to have my wings clipped, but I am able to get around just fine. I just have a specialized cage set up now where my perches, bowls, and toys are kept a bit lower in my cage. My nails were trimmed and now my Foster Mom is working hard to get me converted to a better diet and outside (in a safe way!) for plenty of sunshine to improve my skin and feather issues. So far I like chop and we are working on pellets, but I am now waiting for someone to see my picture and come meet me and fall in love!
