Bailey's Story...
Hi there! My name's Bailey, and I'm a 7 year old golden retriever mix. I was recently brought to the shelter because my owner could no longer care for me. He is 90 years old, and became ill and needed to be placed in a nursing home. I sure do miss him, but hopefully I'll find someone who will love me just as much as he did!

I'm up to date on vaccinations, neutered, and have a microchip. I'm a super sweet and loving boy, who just needs someone to give me a home and love me for the rest of my life. Could that someone be YOU??

The shelter is open Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 1-5, Tuesday and Thursday from 1-8, and Saturday from 10-2. Come visit!

You can see some of our adoptable pets almost every Saturday at the Petsmart in Greensburg from noon to 6pm and some Sundays too. All adoption fees include spay/neuter and up-to-date vaccinations.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Bailey, a Youngwood Golden Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Golden Retriever for sale in Youngwood, or seeking a Golden Retriever dog from a breeder in Youngwood.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Youngwood already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Youngwood breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Golden Retriever breeders who help with Golden Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Youngwood paves the way for another one to be saved.
