Introducing Peyton! This boy is very sweet, and his legs are starting to fill out with some exercise. Peyton is a smart, happy, and playful fellow who makes great eye contact when you talk to him. He is very affectionate and cuddly, and he is friendly with adults and children of all ages. He takes treats gently and is highly food motivated, which should make training a snap! Petyon is absolutely wonderful because he has a lot of energy to play, but he will settle down and take a nap at your feet when he comes into the house. He likes to follow his people around, either inside or outside, so that he can be near them.

Peyton loves to be outside. He really likes to go for walks, and he is learning to walk nicely on leash with the help of a no-pull harness. He gets along well with other dogs and enjoys playing at the dog park. Peyton will chase balls and play fetch for hours if possible. He especially enjoys his squeaky balls--the softer the better. Peyton needs a fenced yard to keep him safe as he plays and explores.

Not only is Peyton housetrained, but he is also very well behaved while his foster mom is at work and does not chew or destroy household items. Although he has learned his basic commands, he would benefit from additional obedience training in order to help balance his high puppy energy level. Peyton is currently learning not to counter surf or to jump up when he greets people. It’s clear that he is very smart and eager to please, and he will learn manners quickly once he has consistent training.

Peyton is looking for his Forever Home, where he will be a loyal and loving companion. His foster mom said that he is one of the best snugglers, and she can’t wait for him to find his Forever Family so that he can keep them warm this winter!

Please note that an approved adoption application is the first step in a more thorough interview process that is designed to match each dog to exactly the right family, and that the final decision rests with the dog's case manager.
Please read the Adoption FAQ and get an Adoption Application approved before inquiring about Peyton.
