Rudy's Story...
Rudy is a piebald male miniature Dachshund approximately 3 years old and weighs about 17 pounds. He is one happy boy and will make a great addition to any family! Rudy is great with other dogs and children; he is housebroken and crate trained. Rudy came to us as his owner could no longer care for him and his friend Copper. IADR would like to place Rudy and Copper in the same family if possible. He is up-to-date on vaccinations, microchipped, heartworm negative and on prevention. Rudy wants to be with his forever human family! Is your family the right match for this wonderful dog?

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Rudy, a Cross Roads Dachshund dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Dachshund for sale in Cross Roads, or seeking a Dachshund dog from a breeder in Cross Roads.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Cross Roads already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Cross Roads breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Dachshund breeders who help with Dachshund rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Cross Roads paves the way for another one to be saved.
