My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

I'm Dustin Olson and this is Penny. I live in Phoenix, AZ.

Penny is my ex-wife's dog. She is a Sharpei Mix (the dog, not my ex). I've been caring for Penny for several months because my ex-wife and her husband were evicted from their home and their dog needed a place to stay. It was meant to be a short-term solution. My ex-wife was suppose to come back for Penny, but she never did. Long story short Penny is not happy here. My lifestyle is not a good fit for her. It's really that simple. Penny wants a permanent home.

Penny has some great qualities. She's the perfect age of 3. She's on the smaller side of "large". She's smart, affectionate, doesn't attempt to jump over my fence and she does well with cats. She's also spayed and up-to-date on her shots. But Penny also needs some work. She doesn't leash well, she chews and barks when she's bored, and she's not 100% housebroken...although when she has an automatic doggy door she does fine. Plus, she can be a little bitchy with certain female dogs. She does fine with male dogs and even some females. Basically, Penny just needs someone to fully invest in her. She's tired of being my guest. She needs someone to really love her...someone to call her own. I've been trying to rehome Penny for months and quite frankly we are both getting frustrated. Can someone please help us out? A rescue? A private party? Anyone?
