Sparkle's Story...
Testimony from Sparkle's foster mom: I had the pleasure of fostering Sparkle for 12 days. She is one of the greatest dogs I have ever known. She is incredibly sweet, well behaved and has a wonderful temperament. Her tail is constantly wagging. She loves people and is great with kids and dogs. She LOVES to give kisses. Families with younger kids would have to be careful because she likes to push you down on the couch to smother you with kisses. She is a total love bug. She loves to run around outside so a fenced in yard would be great. She is incredibly athletic. She would enjoy the company of a canine sibling as she loved playing with my dog. Hopefully she finds a family who will allow her to sleep in bed with them. She loved cuddling up with me or one of my sons at night. She also loves to snuggle on the couch with a human so hopefully she can go to a home where dogs are allowed on the couch. She is extremely smart. She learned sit and paw in one day. She is a great listener. If you say no, she listens. If you call her to come inside, she comes. She never tried to chew any furniture. She does not need to be crated. The 2 times I did crate her, she escaped. She is housebroken and will paw at the door when she needs to go. She loves to ride in the car and is perfectly behaved in the car. Sparkle is truly awesome and will make a wonderful addition to a lucky family.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Sparkle, a Maquoketa Terrier (Unknown Type, Medium) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Terrier (Unknown Type, Medium) for sale in Maquoketa, or seeking a Terrier (Unknown Type, Medium) dog from a breeder in Maquoketa.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Maquoketa already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Maquoketa breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Terrier (Unknown Type, Medium) breeders who help with Terrier (Unknown Type, Medium) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Maquoketa paves the way for another one to be saved.
