Gina's Story...
Gina is a stunning 3 yr old German Shepherd / Border Collie mix who weighs 56 lbs. Gina has soft medium length fur with beautiful markings. She has an awesome personality and is smart and eager to please. She adores people and loves attention and affection. She gets along great with other dogs and we think she's housebroken and great with other dogs. She is a great family dog and is praying for a new forever family. Please call the office at 563-652-5360 for more info on this wonderful girl. $70 adoption fee includes spaying/neutering, vaccinations, microchip, de-fleaing & de-worming and heartworm test. We offer a 3 week money back (less $10 + $5 if paid on web) or even trade on another pet (dog for dog / cat for cat). This will give the pet and the adopting family time to get acquainted, for the pet to learn house rules, for scared dogs to feel safe and secure, etc.. She is one of our dogs from our 'Saving Death Row Dogs' program. This transport is from a Miami Dade kill shelter and many of these dogs were taken off the main adoption room floor and could not be viewed by potential adopters. Some literally had hours until death for no fault of their own...just because of overcrowding, no homes and to make room for new incoming dogs.. But because of this great program and hard work of the 'Dogs on the Move' organization staff, our staff and volunteers that we were able to save these wonderful dogs and cats ...we would like to thank our donors, its' because of their donations that we were able to take a lot on the 'Most Urgent Red Code List'. Do you have room in your heart and home to give one of these sweet boys or girls a second chance at life in a loving home and a 'Happily Ever After'that they deserve? YOUR NEW COMPANION WILL COME WITH THE FOLLOWING -- spaying or neutering (which must be done before you can take your new family member home), all up-to-date vaccinations including rabies and rabies vaccination tag. Please bring a leash with you to the shelter to escort your new family member home properly. *BREED DISCLOSURE: Due to the fact that most of our adoptable pets are strays, we can’t guarantee their breed. We list the pet’s breed as the one that best matches the physical appearance, and the pet may also be listed as a mix when it’s a purebred. COST OF ADOPTION -- Dogs $70 and Cats $55. Cash only please if paid at the shelter. sorry no checks or credit cards. Microchip available at extra cost. Pre-payment and payment with credit card available on the web with credit card for additional $5 fee. Please email for info. Why Adoption is a Great Option

Gina, a Maquoketa German Shepherd Dog/Border Collie dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a German Shepherd Dog/Border Collie for sale in Maquoketa, or seeking a German Shepherd Dog/Border Collie dog from a breeder in Maquoketa.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Maquoketa already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Maquoketa breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even German Shepherd Dog/Border Collie breeders who help with German Shepherd Dog/Border Collie rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Maquoketa paves the way for another one to be saved.
