Frazier's Story...
Frazier is a gorgeous 1 year old male Black Labrador Retriever / Boxer mix. In the designer dogs world, he could be called a Boxador. He weighs only around 40lbs so he is not overly big and a great medium size to join in with family activities…such as jogging, playing Frisbee and such. He is a sleek shiney black and just completely stunning. He has the looks, but also the personality to match! He is very sweet, happy and friendly to everyone and a regular social butterfly, captivating everyone with his charm. He is smart and eager to please. He gets along and enjoys playing with other dogs. Even though he is only 1 year old, really still just a puppy, and has puppy playfulness...he isn't hyper and is the biggest sweetheart with a clowning around goofiness side that will brighten even the gloomiest day. He is very loving and is happiest when he’s with people engaged in family activities. He will love to do any activities with you such as running, hiking, swimming and playing fetch. He can jog with you in the morning and keep the kids entertained for hours after school! Frazier will make an excellent member in any family and provide love and devotion for a lifetime. $70 adoption fee includes spaying, vaccinations, microchip, de-fleaing & de-worming and heartworm test / treated. Please email office@jchumanesociety.org for information. Will be arriving on the last week of May 2014 'Saving Death Row Dogs' Emergency Transport from Pinnellas County, Florida; Call for more info: 563-652-5360. Updates on our Facebook Page and don't forget to 'LIKE US'! Fans get notice of all our Death Row transports, local and non-local pet arrivals, adoptions, informative dog and cat articles, videos, pet updates and much, much more! http://www.facebook.com/JCHumaneSociety If you plan on coming out the day of the transport, please call first to make sure there were no delays and the transport arrived. They usually arrive late morning, but that is a long distance to travel and many things could happen such as detours, traffic, engine trouble, etc. This is one of our dogs from our 'Saving Death Row Dogs' program. This transport is from a Pinnellas County, Florida high kill shelter and many of these dogs were taken off the main adoption room floor and could not be viewed by potential adopters. Some literally had hours until death for no fault of their own...just because of overcrowding, no homes and to make room for new incoming dogs.. But because of this great program and hard work of the 'Dogs on the Move' organization staff, our staff and volunteers that we were able to save these wonderful dogs and cats ...we would like to thank our donors, its' because of their donations that we were able to take a lot on the 'Most Urgent Red Code List'. Do you have room in your heart and home to give one of these sweet boys or girls a second chance at life in a loving home and a 'Happily Ever After'that they deserve? YOUR NEW COMPANION WILL COME WITH THE FOLLOWING -- spaying or neutering (which must be done before you can take your new family member home), all up-to-date vaccinations including rabies and rabies vaccination tag. Please bring a leash with you to the shelter to escort your new family member home properly. *BREED DISCLOSURE: Due to the fact that most of our adoptable pets are strays, we can’t guarantee their breed. We list the pet’s breed as the one that best matches the physical appearance, and the pet may also be listed as a mix when it’s a purebred. COST OF ADOPTION -- Dogs $70 and Cats $55. Cash only please if paid at the shelter. sorry no checks or credit cards. Microchip available at extra cost. Pre-payment and payment with credit card available on the web with credit card for additional $5 fee. Please email for info. Why Adoption is a Great Option

Frazier, a Maquoketa Labrador Retriever/Boxer puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever/Boxer for sale in Maquoketa, or seeking a Labrador Retriever/Boxer puppy from a breeder in Maquoketa.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Maquoketa already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Maquoketa breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever/Boxer breeders who help with Labrador Retriever/Boxer rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Maquoketa paves the way for another one to be saved.
