My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Name: Cato
Breed: Shepherd/Terrier/Bully mix
Age: Young Adult
Gender: Male

Cato is an adolescent mixed up mutt pup who wants to shake your paw! This guy is Mr. Friendly and loves everyone he meets at first snuggle. He is social, outgoing, happy to be with his people, and is always up for what his people are doing. Going for a walk, camping, swimming (though he prefers not to be in the water!), or just hanging out snuggling up for a movie and a few stolen pieces of popcorn. He is a 3-legged pup but we almost forget to even mention that because it doesn't slow him down at all! He runs, plays, hikes, and jumps just as well as any of his 4-legged friends. Cato is good with dogs, needs a home without cats, and fine with older kids. He is housetrained, knows his basic manners, and is working on learning more tricks. He loves to learn and melts with happiness when he is told he's a "good boy". So why has this amazing dog grown up in the shelter/rescue system? Cato has significant separation anxiety. What this means for his adopters is that investing in a super sturdy crate is a necessity as well as a willingness and experience to continue behavioral meds and training. He would benefit greatly from someone home more often than not or able to break up his crate time with a lunch break let-out or dog walker. He has made a ton of progress anxiety wise and does so well at his foster home now that we know in a forever home that commits to him and his training needs he will be so successful. All he needs now is someone to take a chance on an adorable little mutt pup who promises a lifetime of paw shakes and a willingness to follow on any adventure no matter how crazy.

Requirements: No cats. Adopter must own home due to breed mix. Home committed to training and managing the separation anxiety.

You can email laurahhk9@gmail.com with questions and for a preadopt application. This dog has been spayed/neutered, vaccinated as age appropriate, tested for heartworm disease if age appropriate, and dewormed.
