Here's what the humans have to say about me:
This little Tortoiseshell beauty is Ursula. She’s a tiny little girl born in April 2013. She has long fur and beautiful coloring. She had a viral eye infection when very young which left her with some scarring on her corneas. She can see well, similar to looking through a very sheer curtain.
Ursula has a disorder called Stomatitis. In many cases, the cause is assumed to be immune mediated, meaning the cat’s immune system attacks its own oral tissues. Our vet described it as an allergy to her tooth enamel. The effect is very painful swelling in the mouth and oral cavity. At this time Ursula is trying a homeopathic remedy to alleviate her condition. If that fails the next step is a full mouth extraction.
Ursula is living in a cattery with 8 other cats and needs more individual attention due to her condition. She needs an oral herbal remedy twice a day, and her condition and eating habits need to be closely monitored. She weighs only 5 pounds due to illness and requires good quality food and careful monitoring.
I know it’s a lot to ask for someone to adopt this girl with special needs. She will not thrive in a group home and with the limited human and monetary resources available to our little rescue group.
Ursula was rescued from a feral litter and is quite shy of new people. She is becoming accustomed to being picked up and prodded but it’s been hard for her and me.
Ursula loves other cats and would make a great playmate. She is playful and likes to curl up next to another cat for her naps. She is also very fond of our little Poodle.
Would you consider giving this sweet little girl a chance for a healthy life?
