My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This adorable standard miniature poodle was living outside in a backyard, neglected, and mostly alone. When rescued he had painful, massive ear infections, which the vet said had been ongoing for quite some time. He was underfed, with his bones protruding, and had many mats, especially under his oozing ears.

After lots of loving care, Melvin is healthy and happy again. Despite all the neglect, he adores people, and is the best snuggler and cuddler you've ever met. He loves naps in the sunshine, or sprawled on the couch, and gets very excited about playing fetch.

After spending years alone in a backyard, he does occasionally get frightened by other dogs, so he needs a home where he is the only pet. He also gets anxious when left alone, so a stay-at-home person would be ideal. And, of course, Melvin is an indoor dog, but requires a fenced in back yard to play in.
