There are many times that we don't know a dogs background - they are shelter dogs, strays, ditched on some side road...we just don't know.
This is Fern - and we DO know her story and we rescued her. Now she needs the perfect home.
Fern was a families dog until a child came along - then she became an outdoor dog, chained to a tree. Neighbors watched as she became more and more depressed, lost weight and became despondent. Thankfully when Animal Control was called they were proactive and the family released her willingly - that's where SCD comes in. Seeing the sad beauty on her face we opened our arms to this scared girl who had been living outside down South for over a year. It took her all of 10 hours inside our wonderful foster's home to open up and show us what a treasure she is.....and she IS a treasure! We had her fully vetted (she was already spayed) and started her on a feeding regiment to help her gain back that lost weight. The children in her foster family showered her with love, she is great with the cats, loves playing with their other dog and her eyes slowly started to glow with happiness again.....
Fern is about 4 years old, fully house broken, medium energy and weighs about 45 lbs....she's just perfect in our eyes! The only thing Fern is missing is a family to call her own and perhaps you're that family.....as you can see she's got classic Carolina Dog markings and physical attributes. Her eyes....her eyes are the gateway to this wonderful girls soul - just look into them.....she's got it all and she's just waiting for that perfect home to come along and open their arms to her.
