Diamond's Story...
Diamond, is still new to foster care, but it's clear that she's already won the hearts of her FOTA family. Here's what Diamond's foster mom has to say about her: A Diamond is a girl's best friend. Her original owner named her this, because she said when she found her as a puppy her eyes sparkled like diamonds in the dark against her coat. I think her name is Diamond due to the fact that diamond gemstones start off rough and dark, but with heavy pressure & high temperature they become one of the strongest materials in the mineral world. This 2 year old, heartworm negative, lady has been living under a house tied to a backyard chain most of her young life, yet her eyes still sparkle with joy as she nuzzles and licks anyone who reaches out to love on her. She loves to play fetch and "shake paws" too. Help me find this gentle, house trained, child and cat friendly, easy to love pup a good home. She will be at the Friends of the Animals Baton Rouge House until the perfect match is made.
For more information please text (225) 454-5188, or just stop by the FOTA Adoption House, and ask to see our beautiful, black Diamond. All dogs adopted through Friends of the Animals are current on vaccinations, microchipped, and spayed or neutered prior to adoption. Why Adoption is a Great Option

Diamond, a Baton Rouge Retriever (Unknown Type) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Retriever (Unknown Type) for sale in Baton Rouge, or seeking a Retriever (Unknown Type) dog from a breeder in Baton Rouge.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Baton Rouge already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Baton Rouge breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Retriever (Unknown Type) breeders who help with Retriever (Unknown Type) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Baton Rouge paves the way for another one to be saved.
