Sugar was rescued from a neglect case. She was starved for her whole life, from what we can tell, and because of her experience, she is extremely food guarded. She guards her food from other animals and from people. She needs an understanding family who can devote time to helping Sugar become more comfortable with a real home life and comfort her to help her work through her issues.
An ideal family for Sugar would have another dog for her to play with, a yard for her to play in, and a family who is patient and willing to do a very slow introduction with the other dog. Her ideal family must love her for her, not just want her as a companion for another dog.
