Pocahontas's Story...
Pocahontas is a lovely gentle lady who was in no rush to head out to her photo session. She stopped several times along the way to take a break and smell the roses. She stood calmly while we pulled a dozen huge ticks and several large burrs from her gorgeous coat. She has a soft, quiet manner. She was comfortable being touched all over and rolled over easily to have her belly rubbed. She was found wandering with two other dogs and she has been sharing her kennel with another. Very beautiful sweet girl. 2-3 years, 39 lbs, heartworm positive

Act quickly to adopt Pocahontas. Pets at this Shelter may be held for only a short time.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Pocahontas, a Darlington German Shepherd Dog/Collie dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a German Shepherd Dog/Collie for sale in Darlington, or seeking a German Shepherd Dog/Collie dog from a breeder in Darlington.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Darlington already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Darlington breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even German Shepherd Dog/Collie breeders who help with German Shepherd Dog/Collie rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Darlington paves the way for another one to be saved.
