Flower's Info...

I am a special needs pet, in need of an experienced adopter, not good with kids, and good with small animals.

Flower's Story...
Flower is a female Abyssinian breed guinea pig. Flower is approx 2-3 months old. She was taken into our rescue (along with 2 others) because her humans were going to throw her outside in the wild. We noticed that Flower was running in circles, hitting her head on the side of the cage and is very fearful of human touch. Flowers foster mom has her seen by a vet 11/17/15 for an evaluation. Our vet prescribed an antibotic for an ear infection (as a test was negitive for mites). We will continue to work with Flower on her "fear of human hand" issues.(she is NOT a biter). It is a "terror" response. She will be avail. for adoption after her medication is completed. We are unsure if Flower will ever be a "normal" guinea pig however she is a sweetheart that deserves a chance. Please email us for updates. She is a precious little girl. She is currently housed with two other females and gets alongs great with them. Flower loves romaine, apples, dandelion leaves and carrots. She is trying new veggies everyday. She seems to really pal along with Millie. Flower also likes to hide under the fleece bedding.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Flower, a Harleysville Guinea Pig was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Guinea Pig for sale in Harleysville, or seeking a Guinea Pig from a breeder in Harleysville.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Harleysville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Harleysville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Guinea Pig breeders who help with Guinea Pig rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Harleysville paves the way for another one to be saved.
