Rocky's Story...
Rocky is a senior Australian Shepherd mix. His owner had way too many dogs and had to move, so Rocky came to us to look for his forever home. He has spent all of her life in his previous home and is taking the loss of his family pretty hard. Rocky was not exposed to much in his life and needs time to adjust and warm up. He is comforted by the presence of other dogs and just needs a calm home to lounge around in. Yes, he is missing half an ear, but doesn't that add some spice to his character?

$175.00 adoption donation ($200 for puppies under 6 months old) helps us take care of all the dogs we rescue. All dogs are spayed/neutered, tested for heartworm and tick borne diseases (if old enough) , microchipped and vaccinated for rabies (if old enough), distemper/parvo and bordetella. They are also treated for internal and external parasites if needed. Many dogs also receive extensive medical care such as surgeries and dentals. Why Adoption is a Great Option

Rocky, a Staunton Australian Shepherd/Shepherd (Unknown Type) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Australian Shepherd/Shepherd (Unknown Type) for sale in Staunton, or seeking a Australian Shepherd/Shepherd (Unknown Type) dog from a breeder in Staunton.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Staunton already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Staunton breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Australian Shepherd/Shepherd (Unknown Type) breeders who help with Australian Shepherd/Shepherd (Unknown Type) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Staunton paves the way for another one to be saved.
