Hello, my name is Mama Mia. My guardians call me Mia. I am around 3 years old. My guardians started feeding me last year outside their home and realized during the bitter cold winter that I was pregnant, so they took me in. I have had my kittens now, been spayed, and had my necessary shots. I am getting used to being an inside cat, but I miss the outside and love to sit in a window for hours looking at it. My guardians love me very much. But I don’t get along very well with their other cats, so I am looking for a new forever home with a guardian that will love me and keep me safe. I’m very afraid of dogs. My guardians are willing to work with anyone who is willing to give me a chance at a permanent home. They are requesting a donation amount of $50 to go to SARG for all their help taking care of me. If you would like to meet me or talk to my foster mom and ask questions please call (865)368-6697 or email her at [Posted 11/19/2015]

About Shelter Animals Rescue Group (SARG)

About Our Rescue Group...

We are a small, all-volunteer, 501(c)3 nonprofit rescue group, with emphasis on mixed-breed dogs and cats. We adopt primarily from our local animal shelter, although we occasionally take in hardship cases. We also assist individuals in our area by advertising on our website animals they need to rehome, if the animals have been spayed/neutered. We gratefully accept donations, and we need volunteers for many events. More than anything, we need foster homes.

Come Meet Our Pets...

As a volunteer group, we do not have a facility. Our animals reside in foster homes and boarding kennels. We show them regularly at the PetSmart store on Parkside Drive in Knoxville the second Friday of each month, 4 to 8 p.m., as well as by appointment.

Our Adoption Process...

Cat adoption fee is $125, and $145 for dogs. We attempt to match the animal's characteristics with the family and their lifestyle. We require an application form, which becomes part of the adoption contract, a personal or phone interview, veterinarian reference if applicable, home visit, and an additional agreement about how the animal will be treated. Cats must be indoors only, not declawed. Dogs must be fenced or leashed when outdoors and treated as part of the family--indoors as much as possible, and always at night. Adopter agrees to provide regular veterinary care, and to return the animal to us if they ever give it up. We reserve the right to check on the animal's welfare from time to time, with appropriate notice.
