Wild Child's Story...
This gorgeous torti princess is Wild Child, a 7 1/2 year old sweet and lovely lady that is dreaming of a loving home of her own. Wild Child had a home, but was turned in when her owner could no longer care for her. We're not quite sure how she got her name because she is far from wild, but that's her name and she's sticking to it. This poor girl arrived with such a terrible upper respiratory infection that she spent several weeks in our hospital under medical treatment but once it was cleared up, Wild Child was like a new kitty. She is happy, healthy, and enjoying a relaxing and peaceful life in our free roaming area. While she is quite content and cared for, we really would like to get this little lady back in a loving home with a cozy lap to snuggle up in. Wild Child was a bit shy when she arrived, but she has come out of her shell quite a bit and continues to make new friends every chance she gets. She loves getting attention and gets her purr machine going the moment you pet her. She gets along beautifully with the other cats in her area and she would transition easily into any good home with a loving family to spoil her forever. File#24677 4/28/15

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Wild Child, a Forked River Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Forked River, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Forked River.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Forked River already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Forked River breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Forked River paves the way for another one to be saved.
