Emilio's Info...

I am already neutered, housetrained, up to date with shots, good with kids, good with dogs, and good with cats.

Emilio's Story...
Emilio came to the shelter infested with fleas and matted down to the skin. No one looked at this poor boy. We were asked to take him only hours before he was to be euthanized. He has been staying with our foster, Tracey, and she says he is the best thing since sliced bread. He loves to snuggle and be loved, and if you get up to do a chore and sit again, he is the first thing that races for your lap.

Emilio is about 2-3 years old and he is a love bug. He is the perfect travel size (12 lbs) and is ready to find a family of his very own. Won't you consider making Emilio your next family member?

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Emilio, a Smithtown Shih Tzu dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Shih Tzu for sale in Smithtown, or seeking a Shih Tzu dog from a breeder in Smithtown.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Smithtown already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Smithtown breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Shih Tzu breeders who help with Shih Tzu rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Smithtown paves the way for another one to be saved.
