In addition to the following profile for this dog, please first read the Adoption Information at http://www.shihtzurescuemn.org/adopt.html to understand the process, requirements and timeline for adoption. An adoption application can also be found in the Adoption Info section. If, after reading that information, you have any questions, please submit your question via e-mail and it will be answered. Please do not request a phone call. A personal phone call will only be made when an adoption application has been submitted and the foster parent wishes to consider the application. Thank you!

Lola is a happy, healthy and sweet 1 year old,19 pound Shih Tzu/Havanese mix! Lola came to our rescue because she was abandoned several times by her original owner. Relatives then stepped in to take Lola but soon realized they couldn’t give her the home she deserved. Lola is a very spunky and playful girl; she walks well on a leash and is excited to see and meet new people when she is out on her walks. Lola also gets along great with her foster brother, who she wrestles with, and even her foster sister, who referees playtime between them!

Lola is a smart girl and VERY curious about her surroundings. Lola didn’t get much attention or consistency in her previous homes so basic training with Lola is a must. Lola loves routine and needs a strong leader so she knows who is “boss.” Potty training is going very well for her (routine is the key) and she is great with “Come, Sit, and Up” commands. Whoever adopts Lola should continue basic training and it is strongly recommended that they attend Puppy Kindergarten classes with her so she knows who her leader is and to give her direction. Lola would do great in a home with someone who could be home most of the day if possible. She would do well in a home without children or with older, respectful children who can be involved in her training and help reinforce and be consistent with her. Lola would also enjoy the company of another dog but she would probably be fine with being the center of attention in an only dog household as well.

Lola is healthy, spayed, current on vaccinations, is microchipped and is on heartworm and flea/tick preventative. Her adoption fee is $370.00 plus $26.92 sales tax for a total of $396.92. Her foster mom would like her adopters to live within 75 miles of the Twin Cities and also encourage them to attend the annual Shih Tzu Rescue Reunion held in September every year.

To meet Lola, please complete an adoption application. Or you can also see her and the other dogs available for adoption from Shih Tzu Rescue of Minnesota by visiting with us from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Minnetonka Petco near Ridgedale the last Saturday of every
