My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Gemma came to us as a transfer from another rescue that we work very closely with in the north. She is a 2.5 years old female docked grey/blue Cane Corso. She and her mate were originally brought into the shelter as strays. The owner came in and reclaimed the male, but left her because she was no longer "useful" to him since she couldn't be bred anymore. The rescue took her in, and were able to located a great home that promised to continue her much needed training.

Fast forward 6 months, her adoptive family broke apart and the husband and wife began divorce proceedings and Gemma found herself back in rescue. Unfortunately the home had not followed thru with the training they committed to. Gemma is a very nervous/frightened girl when she first meets new people. She is excellent with dogs of pretty much all sizes. Gemma is also good with children.

She is currently available and we are taking applications for her. She will need a home that will be patient and soft with her as she continues to blossom, and we know that the potential is there for her. Once she gets over her fears, she is an amazing and loving companion. She would be great for a retired couple that doesn't have too much activity going on around the home.
