Maxwell's Story...
Meet Maxwell, a 10 month old Shepherd mix who came to us recently after his owner became ill and could no longer take care of him. Maxwell weighs about 52 pounds and is neutered and current on his shots. He has been around other dogs and children. Maxwell is crate and house trained. He does have a lot of energy so would probably do best with children about 6 and older. He does settle down after a while. He has been living in an apartment and just going outside a couple of times a day so that may be why he has lots of energy to burn. I'm sure he would love a big yard to play in. Maxwell is new to our rescue so we are still learning about him. His adoption fee is $175.00.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Maxwell, a Lake Orion Shepherd (Unknown Type) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Shepherd (Unknown Type) for sale in Lake Orion, or seeking a Shepherd (Unknown Type) dog from a breeder in Lake Orion.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Lake Orion already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Lake Orion breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Shepherd (Unknown Type) breeders who help with Shepherd (Unknown Type) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Lake Orion paves the way for another one to be saved.
