Hi everyone! I’m Bandit, and I’m a super friendly American Bulldog/love muffin mix looking for a new home. I come from humble beginnings, found abandoned with my litter mates and our mother in Mexico, but I’ve come a long way since. I am now just over a year old, weigh about 74 lb, and I love life and everything about it! I love people, playing with other dogs, and I even like cats (although sometimes I get the feeling that the cat doesn't exactly reciprocate—but I’m working on it!). I firmly believe that peanut butter is man’s greatest gift to dog-kind, and in my free time, I love chomping on ice-cubes and people-watching from my favourite spot on the couch next to the window.

My great qualities don’t end there though. I walk well on a leash, and I always make it a point to be friendly and sociable to unfamiliar dogs and people—you can never have too many best friends! I love other dogs so much that I get excited when I see them approaching on walks—I just love doggy play, so I may pull a bit in my enthusiasm but I am still, even then, very controllable.

Like I said before, I’m a total people “person”. I remember when my former foster mom in Mexico took me to work with her, and I was very popular with her fellow workers, if I do say so myself. I’m told my sweet face and perpetual smile make people want to come by and say hi to me. But I am also okay being left alone at home, although I do prefer to be left with a bone, chew stick and toys to occupy me. Or better still, having another playful dog for me to play with, or a teenager who would engage me and enjoy throwing a ball for me would be ideal. I am a high energy boy, so I need an active and energetic home to keep me tired and happy.

I currently sleep in a crate at night, but I certainly wouldn't object if you wanted me to sleep in the bed with you. I love pleasing my person, and am an expert in the cuddles department.

I am neutered, microchipped and up to date on my vaccinations. My adoption fee is $450.

I would like nothing more to join your family, and I hope I get to meet you really soon!

About Home at Last Dog Rescue

About Our Rescue Group...

Home at Last Dog Rescue is a small group of volunteer animal lovers whose goal is to help homeless, neglected and abused dogs find caring and responsible homes.

Our volunteers are dedicated individuals who have joined together to form a new rescue group. We are commited to helping dogs in need and to provide them a second chance at a happy life.

Our dogs are not kept in a shelter. We depend on the support of caring and compassionate people to care for our dogs until we can find them permanent, loving homes. We provide vet care and rehabilitation to all of our dogs.

Our Adoption Process...

If you are interested in adopting a rescue dog, the first step is to search through the list of our dogs currently available for adoption. All dogs remain on Adoptapet and our website ( until an adoption is finalized so all dogs listed may be applied for.

Our job is to find the right home for each of our dogs. We will contact you to arrange for a home check at your convenience. Unfortunately, many of our applications are rejected, not necessarily because there is anything wrong with the home, but because it is not the right match for the dog. Following a successful home visit, we will arrange for you to meet the dog, usually in their foster home. At that time, you will decide if you would like to adopt the dog.

Before an adoption can be finalized, we will ask you to sign an adoption contract. Depending on the dog’s personality you may be asked to visit the dog once or twice before taking him or her home. This will be most common with shy, timid dogs. Outgoing and confident dogs can most often be taken home after the first meeting. Documentation for each dog will be provided upon adoption. Adopters must be ready to pick up their adopted dog home as soon as they have been approved and have agreed to adopt the dog. Home At Last Dog Rescue BC cannot hold dogs for people who have applied but are not yet ready to accept the dog into their home.

Please note: an adoption fee is required for successful applications. The adoption fee is non-refundable, even if the dog is subsequently returned. Home At Last Dog Rescue BC will always take back one of our dogs for any reason, and without question. Adoption fees for our dogs vary. The price varies based on the age and medical needs of the dog being adopted; costs are judged on a case by case basis.
