My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Harley Jean is a 6 year old spayed female Doberman Pinscher with lovely cropped ears and a docked tail. Harley belonged to our board member Jim Heath who passed away in July. We have since been helping Harley heal from a torn ACL. Surgery was not an option as she was found to have a genetic blood clotting disorder called Von Willebrands. With the help of our Vets office we found an awesome orthopedic vet in Pennsylvania that makes leg braces for dogs with torn ACL. Its been a process but we finally have a brace for Harley that she will wear for 6 months to heal her torn ACL.

Harley has always had food allergies and has to eat Taste of the wild salmon formula dry dog food. She also takes a new drug called Apoqel daily to help with her scratching. With this fairly easy regiment she has no issues. Harley is heart worm negative, up to date on vaccines, micro chipped and has EXTENSIVE vet records. She was VERY well taken care of by Jim, her vet records are more like a novel LOL.

Harley is good with other dogs, she is playful with other dogs and you wouldnt think her leg was even injured! She does tend to play a little rough with the other dogs so needs another playful pup. She has not been in a home with kids so we require teenage aged kids only. She has stayed with friends while her foster was on vaccation and she did wonderful with them and their two male dogs. She is fostered with 4 other dogs males/female young and old and does great. She loves to be petted and told shes the prettiest doberman alive. She is totally house and crate trained and when inside she likes to just relax on a big fluffy dog bed and chew the occasional bone. She has not been around cats, we assume she may chase them but not sure she would harm them. Harley is VERY obedient and knows many commands and has amazing recall. She is in a foster home in fostered in Shelby Township, Michigan and available for adoption now.
