Say hello to Gage. This fine boy only wants to please and to be loved--and to have someone throw balls for him to fetch!
After Gage spent the first year of his life in a garage kennel, he moved in with a family who introduced him to a life with more freedom and attention. He had the run of a large yard and access to a heated garage for sleeping. He was housetrained previously and will now just need a refresher to become a great indoor dog.
Gage is used to living with another Springer and enjoys that companionship. He is trained to an invisible fence. He is a smart boy who can Heel, Sit, and Stay. Gage's relinquishing owners report that he loves pheasants but is scared of the gun, so hunting won't be in this guy's future. However, he is a loyal and loving dog, and he needs to have a family of his own to love.
Because he is somewhat wary of visitors and delivery people, Gage barks and carries on when he sees someone unfamiliar on the property. For this reason, we would like to place him in a home with adults only. His new owner will need to have patience with Gage and be prepared to work with him on this behavior so that he can relax be more comfortable around new people.
If you have a ball to throw and the desire for a new buddy, consider Gage! This good-looking boy is healthy and ready to find his own true Forever Home. So if you're in need of a new best friend, get in touch with Gage's case managers at the e-mail address below. He is just waiting for his perfect someone to find him!
Please note that an approved adoption application is the first step in a more thorough interview process that is designed to match each dog to exactly the right family, and that the final decision rests with the dog's case manager.
Please read the Adoption FAQ and get an Adoption Application approved before inquiring about Gage.
