My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

SADIE is a 7 year old spayed yellow female Lab who weighs 82 pounds. Sadie #4 is a very affectionate girl and an absolute sweetheart looking for her forever family. Her rescuers describe her as a love bug. Sadie was found as a stray a few weeks ago. Her rescuers searched and posted for her owners but no one ever claimed her. Her rescuers had planned on keeping her but their dominant female dog was not being nice to Sadie. Sadie loves belly rubs and takes treats gently. She is a very calm girl and prefers that her family be home more than not. At nighttime, she prefers to sleep on a dog bed in the master bedroom. She is a smart girl and knows sit, stay, down and come. She is good with other dogs. She is approved for kids 10+.

Update (11/23): Sadie is settling in well at her foster home. She's timid, but very lovable. She loves belly rubs and kisses too! She warmed up to her foster very early on as well as to resident pups. Sadie eats and takes her meds well, but with the help of some organic pumpkin to hide her pills. Sadie rode well in the car. She is totally house trained. She's does ok with short walks, but not long ones. She's a little leary about stairs, but did ok at her own pace. They are hardwood so carpet may be easier for her. Sadie does not like to be crated. She has been left out with the resident lab with no issues just a wagging tail on return. Sadie is not real active with playtime and toys. She prefers to sleep, sleep & sleep most of the day. She will get up and see what the noise is all about if the resident dogs are playing, but then lays right back down. She's already graduated from her bed (unless it's night time) and taken over the couch. She's doing great, loves to eat and sleep and is just a very chill girl who likes a human near by. A quiet and low key household is where she will do best. Preferably someone retired or who works from home. I'd say an active home, kids and active dogs is probably not the ideal place for her.

This dog is available for adoption from Lab Rescue LRCP. The rescue has between 50 ~ 80 dogs available for adoption.

If you are interested in adopting, please visit www.lab-rescue.org and complete an adoption application. Within a few days of submitting an application you will hear from an Adoption Coordinator who will guide you through the adoption process.
