My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

I remember the day I was rescued, I’ll never forget that day! It was a hot July morning in south Mississippi, the heat unbearable as I wandered the street. I didn’t know where I was going I just knew I needed to find help. I could barely walk, my nails were so long that they curled into my pads. The mites that covered my tiny body caused painful sores on my skin and my once beautiful white hair was falling out fast. My right eye was difficult to keep open, as infection had set in. The thick sticky gook was caked in and around my eye. I had been like this for some time and I was getting worse. It was painful to eat anything, my teeth and gums were in horrible shape. There were days were I felt like just giving up, I didn’t have the strength or energy to continue. Each time I felt like that, a little voice would tell me to “keep going, things will get better”. I struggled but I did keep going. On that July morning, two women appeared out of nowhere and scooped me up. That was the day I entered rescue. I know now that the little voice I’d hear was God’s angel whispering in my ear. Thank you God for loving me! My name is Huey and I’m 3 years old. I’m a petite guy weighing only 5 pounds. I am all better now, thanks to the great medical care at Bienville Animal Medical Center, and Dr. Randall. My foster mom and dad have given me so much love and attention. They nurtured my sick little body and made sure I took my medication every day! My foster mom takes me everywhere. I just love riding in the car and going places! I have lots of buddies at my foster home which include canines and felines and we all play nice. I know how to use the doggy door to go out and do my business. At night time I cuddle up to my foster mom in the bed along with my buddies. I’m living a really nice life and I am very thankful to be alive and loved. I do have limited vision in my right eye due to the chronic infection I had for some time before I was rescued. It’s worse at night or when I’m in the dark or low light, that’s when I depend on my foster mom to help me out. I’m ready for a life-long companion, a dedicated partner. One that likes to go places and spend quality time together! If you’re that someone, please visit Forever Home 4 Dogs Rescue’s website to complete and submit and adoption application on me. You can also email foreverhome4dogs@aol.com if you have any questions. Hope to hear from you soon, love Huey.
