VICTOR is a gorgeous, fluffy young gray and white male kitty with medium length fur. He is not quite 2 years old. Victor was part of a large group of outdoor cats that were being maintained by a young woman who was murdered at the beginning of 2014. He spent a year in a foster home while we dealt with a condition called stomatitis (inflamed gums), which required us to remove all of his teeth except for his canines. His mouth has been stable now for 8 months, so we moved him to a new foster home for some socialization. It took several weeks of very patient work on the part of his loving new foster mom to get Victor to initiate interaction with her other than under the bed where he hid. Finally he became comfortable enough to move about the house freely. However, he only feels comfortable enough to do this when there are no other people in the house. One relative has been able to pet him, but otherwise he is mostly bonded to his foster mom, who is his caretaker. He is very loving with her and shows this by following her around the house and seeking her out for affection. He has also started sleeping with her. He seeks interaction with her other cat (who unfortunately does not want to interact with him). Victor likes to play with feathers on a wand and small plastic balls that he can bat around. He loves to get on window ledges to look outside and will stay there for extended periods. He can be vocal but most of the time he is not. He eats dry and wet food well, and uses the litter box religiously. If someone has the patience to work with this beautiful and sweet young boy, he will undoubtedly form the same bond with his forever adopter that he has with his foster mom. Victor has been tested for feline leukemia and FIV (he is negative), neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, defleaed and dewormed - plus you get a free vet visit. His adoption fee is $75, which is strictly to help cover our costs. For more info, please call Beth at (541) 255-9296

About West Coast Dog and Cat Rescue

About Our Rescue Group...

Our mission is to provide care and find loving homes for companion animals of our community, with a focus on those with special needs. Currently we only work with Cats. We offer temporary housing in foster homes until they can be placed through our adoption process. We have adoption centers within both Petsmarts in Eugene, at Chad Drive, near Costco, and 29th and Willamette; PetCo by Valley River Center and Wags Emporium on Coburg Rd. WCDC works with humane societies, other animal rescue groups, the public and government animal services agencies to offer them relief from their overpopulation problem. All cats in our custody receive the medical care they need. WCDC is a non-profit organization. All money raised is used to help WCDC save as many animal lives as possible.

Come Meet Our Pets...

Our cats can be seen at Petsmart on Chad Drive and on Willamette St, at Petco near Valley River Center and Wags Emporium on Coburg Rd, seven days a week during normal business hours. We do have adoption counselors available on weekends or by appointment or from 11-4pm Sat.-Sun.

Our Adoption Process...

All potential adopters are required to complete our application and contract. Our contract stipulates the requirements for care of our pets. These documents are available through e-mail or at our adoption events. The documents are reviewed by our staff and together with a face to face interview we explore the potential new home. If all parties agree to the specifics of the contract the dog or cat can go home. Adoption fee varies with age of pet.
All pets are current on vaccinations, health checked by our veterinarian, De-wormed, treated with flea medication, spayed or neutered, and cats are felv/fiv tested.
