Pinky's Story...
Pinky was found tied to a dog house in Warren Ohio. Pinky has mange (not contagious!) and is getting treatment but we are not sure if his hair will ever fully grow back. The vet thinks he is about 8 years old but he has a lot of energy for an older dog! We don't know much about what Pinky's life was like before he came to Furkid but we know he now loves sleeping under all the covers, playing with toys and going for walks. Pinky is currently fostered with 3 other dogs large and small. Pinky gets along with his fostered siblings great but prefers to have bones in a separate space where he knows no one will take these things from him.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Pinky, a Pittsburgh American Staffordshire Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a American Staffordshire Terrier for sale in Pittsburgh, or seeking a American Staffordshire Terrier dog from a breeder in Pittsburgh.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Pittsburgh already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Pittsburgh breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even American Staffordshire Terrier breeders who help with American Staffordshire Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Pittsburgh paves the way for another one to be saved.
