Blacky's Story...
Blacky and his buddy Bella are not at Woodhaven. For info, please call Preen at (951) 756-9870 or e-mail him at ozma@readingcouch.com

"I found 2 kittens age around 6-10 weeks, starving and thin, near my home area last week. I couldn’t stand watching them hungry and freezing to death in the cold weather so I’ve fed them. I set up a nice corner under the front porch of my house to be a place to feed them. It’s behind the garden with some trees, so nobody can see.

"I cleaned my dog old house and put a cloth with warm fleece inside so they can sleep with comfort at night. My mission is successful as these two kitties come and sleep in the little house. They allow me to pat them now.

"But the problem is..I can’t keep them as I’ve already adopted 1 dog and 2 cats. I’m still renting a house and it’s hard to have more pets though I really want to. I don’t want to take them to shelter I don’t want to see them die there."

Let's help Preen find forever homes for Blacky and Bella!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Blacky, a Yucaipa Domestic Shorthair kitten was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Yucaipa, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair kitten from a breeder in Yucaipa.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Yucaipa already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Yucaipa breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Yucaipa paves the way for another one to be saved.
