Gretel's Story...
Hello! My name is Gretel and I am a beautiful, 10-year-old female Weim. My litter mate brother Hansel and I sadly found ourselves homeless when our lifelong owner passed away and no one else in the family was able to take us in. : ( Luckily GLWR was able to bring us in, in hopes of finding us a new forever home.

We are very happy dogs with no health concerns other than a couple fatty lumps and bumps. We get along with other dogs, but due to our age, we would not be good in a home with little one. But older kids would be perfectly fine for us! We are looking for a warm, loving home where we can rest our senior bones on a soft spot and provide you will all the love we still have to give. Do you have a couple empty dog beds longing for a Weim body to warm it up? I am being fostered in Durand, MI.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Gretel, a Grand Haven Weimaraner dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Weimaraner for sale in Grand Haven, or seeking a Weimaraner dog from a breeder in Grand Haven.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Grand Haven already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Grand Haven breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Weimaraner breeders who help with Weimaraner rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Grand Haven paves the way for another one to be saved.
