My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hershey came to us with her 11 (yes, 11) pups. She and her babies had been dumped as strays at a shelter even though she had a collar on. We couldn't leave her there and brought her into our rescue to finish raising her babies and get her in tip top shape.

Well, Hershey has raised her babies and is all set to be someone's best friend. Hershey is amazingly calm and gentle and even soulful. She will melt your heart when she looks in your eyes to let you know just how much she is grateful for a second chance at a life of love and companionship. Now that her puppies have all found homes of their own Hershey has even become more playful and would love nothing more than to spend time working in the yard with her people and then sitting next to them to just relax. (We had to let her down gently when we informed her she's too big to be a lap dog.)

Hershey is crate trained and sleeps in the house all through the night without a peep. She is even house trained and will let you know by a swipe of the paw on the door that she needs to go out. She does not like to be confined in a kennel at all but does love to spend time in the sun outdoors. She is even great on leash!
