I'm Dallas, a Chihuahua mix, 8.7 pounds around 18 months of age, a neutered male.   I'm

Heart worm tested negative,  Micro chipped, since this is a dog that will take a chase and may or may not come back.
I'm a dynamo, normally too busy to be a lap dog.  i have things to do and places to go.  Im full of life, energy and personality, athletic and need to run, Whether that is chasing a ball, a dog, or going for walks.  I do great at the dog park. This even helps me gain confidence with people.   I only go to the small dog park because if a dog shows dominance I will not back down.
I'm Not recommended for children And do not do well when unfamiliar people tease me, come at me or reach for Me.  I do not have a sense of humor about people teasing.  Only chosen people are welcome to pick me up.  I need time to adjust but once I make a friend I am quite sweet.
From his Foster Mom (Dallas has had a bad beginning in life and is still gaining confidence.   He would benefit from the friendship of another dog in the home.  At the very least frequent and consistent opportunity to spend time visiting and playing with a doggie friend.  This will take the edge off of his energy and his demand that you satisfy his need for activity and attention.   He is an Excellent traveller; Excellent going potty onleash.  He is not house broken, but great at using the potty box.  I would not leave him unsupervised.  As long as I am paying attention and read his cues and provide him adequate opportunity to go outside he succeeds.  Overnight he has a sleeping area 3 foot by 6 foot that has a large potty box.
He does not like the cold, rain or snow.  But snow is fun as long as there is someone to chase.  He does wear coats when it is cold or wet outdoors.)

About Blue HAWK (Helping Animals With Kindness) Org.

About Our Rescue Group...

Blue HAWK (Helping Animals With Kindness) is a Non-Profit, No-Kill, volunteer run organization that nurtures homeless, abandoned, abused, pets back to health while finding reliable foster and/or "forever homes" for our babies.

Our goal is to save as many animals from being killed at city pounds or from some other fate of death or worse.

Our mission to help make our county No-Kill and then branch; through spaying and neutering and education about spaying and neutering.

Come Meet Our Pets...

We have "meet and greets" by appointment after applications are filled out and we have corresponded enough to basically know if there is a good match. Also we have adoptions every weekend, mostly at various businesses in Norman, and sometimes at special events. We hold our Adoption Fairs in the afternoons on Saturday or Sunday,

Our Adoption Process...

First we ask you lots if questions to try to find out if our pet is a good fit for you. We then email an application for you to email back; Next we set up a meet and greet to meet the pet. If everything seems like a good fit at that time we set up the home visit/delivery. If our pets seems happy, safe and fits in then we complete the adoption and let our pet stay for first over night and so on...if not a good fit by the end of one week the pet cones back and there is a refund of all but $35 of the adoption fee.
