Diggory's Story...
"Diggory" (which means "lost or strayed") is a 9 month old Akita/Sheperd mix baby. He has been neutered, brought up to date on shots, is on frontline and heart guard. He will weigh around 75-85 pounds full grown. He is a very quiet, well mannered puppy who walks very nicely on a leash. Diggory knows some basic obedience and keeps a clean kennel, but would probably need some work on potty training. He is a very smart dog, so this would not take long. He likes other dogs, but we are unsure of cats. He will definately need to be kept in a fenced yard, 6 ft. would be best because he can really jump. Diggory will only be adopted to a family with solid vet references. He deserves to be a member of a family- which means he must be a house dog, not a kenneled dog or dog forgotten about on a chain!!!!!!!! Diggory is being fostered in Hastings.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Diggory, a Columbus German Shepherd Dog/Akita dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a German Shepherd Dog/Akita for sale in Columbus, or seeking a German Shepherd Dog/Akita dog from a breeder in Columbus.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Columbus already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Columbus breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even German Shepherd Dog/Akita breeders who help with German Shepherd Dog/Akita rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Columbus paves the way for another one to be saved.
