Individuals interested in adopting a puppy are STRONGLY encouraged to download and read this FREE ebook. Even if you've raised puppies in the past, this is an invaluable resource to help make your new addition successful!

Please note that visual breed identification of companion animals has been proven to be unreliable, so for most of our animals we provide a best guess at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each of our animals as an individual and do our best to describe and place pets based on personality not breed label.

My name is Boo.  I love being picked up so I can perch/ride around on your shoulder, give you kisses and purr loudly in your ear.  From my perch, it is much easier to supervise or assist you with your activities.  I am beyond cute (or so I’m told) and rather distinguished-looking with my white whiskers and black coat.  I’m very clean & well behaved.  When you arrive home, I will likely run to greet you at the door.  My foster Mom tells me I am very special and have tons of personality.  I am looking for a loving, fur-ever home where I will be appreciated for all that I have to offer.  I look forward to being a part of your family and will try every day to repay you for this gift with all the love I have to offer.

Favorite Hobbies: I love playing with the feather on a stick, though sometimes I have to share it with my brother, Sam and sister, Yum-Yum.  I also enjoy sleeping in the cozy recliner and watching the birds & smelling the air from my sunny window seat.  Any opportunity to nap and snuggle with my human will make my day. I also enjoy getting into the catnip and batting my catnip mouse around.

About Humane Society of Washington County

About Our Rescue Group...

The Humane Society of Washington County was primarily an organization that provided spay and neuter funding for low income families. Spay and neutering is still at the front of our organization but we have also incorporated fostering and adoptions of animals. We are committed to see our community to become a no kill community. Our organization is not funded by local government, we rely only on spay neuter grants and fund raising. We have grown tremendously in the last year with over 100 dogs in foster care. Our cat program began in November of 2014 and is expanding into a feral program. We have 35 cats in our program and have located barns in our area that will let us place feral cats if individuals do not want them returned to their neighborhoods. We continually fund those in need of spay or neuter as well as all animals prior to adoption are spayed or neutered. To continue to grow, we need donations for our programs and those links are available on our website under giving. We also need volunteers. The volunteer application is also available on our website. Working together we will become a no kill community.
