Lehua's Story...
Did I hear you say you were looking for a quiet and gentle little girl? One who is a bit sensitive but loyal to the core? You should see me! Lehua! I'm a loving and sweet terrier mix who is 3 years old. I've had a lot of changes in my life recently, so I'm looking for a patient family that will help me blossom into the perfect companion I know I am! I'm 23 lbs, so a great size for long walks in the neighborhood or curling up on the couch - both things I love to do! I do great with other dogs and would love to share my life with a doggy sibling! I am happy meeting new people, but since I take a little bit of time to warm up I will do best in a home without kids. I can't wait to find the family that is just right for me, are you the ones? Fill out the adoption application so we can schedule a meet and greet. I am fixed, vaccinated and microchipped. My adoption fee is $250. I am currently living in foster care.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Lehua, a Portland Terrier (Unknown Type, Small) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Terrier (Unknown Type, Small) for sale in Portland, or seeking a Terrier (Unknown Type, Small) dog from a breeder in Portland.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Portland already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Portland breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Terrier (Unknown Type, Small) breeders who help with Terrier (Unknown Type, Small) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Portland paves the way for another one to be saved.
