My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet our Southern diva, Miss Fannie Mae. No, she isn't actually from the south but she sure does have a southern way about her, complete with a sassy sashay and confident, yet lady like way about her. Picture a well dressed, spunky lady, walking into a room wearing a large-brimmed hat, sippin' on sweet tea and greeting each person she passes with a warm smile and a big ol' hug. That's our Fannie Mae.
FanMae is roughly eleven years old and we rescued her from a high kill shelter when she was dumped by her family as a euthanasia request, due to her age and multiple health issues. The happy, affectionate girl we now know and love was completely broken down and depressed at the time, barely willing to lift her head to greet us for the first couple days. With time, Fannie has come out of her shell and learned to trust and love again and boy does she love! She is eager to greet her people, loves to cuddle on the couch, thinks belly rubs are the best and will follow you around, just to make sure you don't get lonely. She is indeed an older gal but she still has a lot of pep in her step and love for life. Fannie would love a family who is home often because she not only loves attention, but she is incontinent so she needs to be let outside regularly. She does well on a schedule and loves time in the yard so going outside often is enjoyable for her. She also wears a diaper in her foster home and does just fine. Like many older Pugs, Fannie has a slight weeble wobble to her walk as her back legs are a bit weak, likely due to previous injury or possible abuse. Due to this, Fannie should maintain her girlish figure of 19lbs. and would appreciate a home with minimal steps or a family willing to give her a lift up and down. Fannie does well with children, cats, and other dogs, though she often plays bossy referee when she feels things are getting too chaotic between dog friends. Miss Mae is spayed, up to date on vaccinations, microchipped, and heartworm negative.
